Impact have signed "Big Kon" to a multi-year deal... SMH. Why? I assumed he would be there for 6 months like most guys and move on. Multi-year deal for this mope is just hilarious. Even worse is making Sami Callihan subservient to him. Impact has some really good under-the-radar talent that gets showcased and likely would be lost in the shuffle elsewhere, but then they push guys like Kon and Maclin too.

Fandango has officially signed with Impact. Why I couldn’t say.

Last night’s Impact featured the return of THE YETI! Raven had just finished a conversation with Santino Marella when Reese randomly walked in and said, “Boss, are we getting The Flock back together again?” Raven said “Shut up Yeti” and Reese replied that he cries at night because of how mean Raven is to him. Completely random segment and I can only assume Reese was backstage visiting and someone thought it would be funny to throw that on TV.

Impact and NJPW announced a major cross-over show on March 30 in L.A. called Multiverse United, headlined by Will Ospreay vs. Mike Bailey. This is obviously a WM weekend show with all hands on deck.

Taya Valkyrie has finished up with Impact as of the last set of tapings. She is also a regular in MLW where she has reunited with her husband John Morrison, who recently started there. However, she isn't under contract to them, so as of now she is a free agent. Speculation is that she will be returning to WWE/NXT where HHH will utilize her better than the last disastrous run, but AEW is also interested and she is listening to both offers.

Impact can't catch a break. They're putting on such a good product and now just ahead of WM weekend, disaster strikes again. Both Impact World champion Josh Alexander and Impact Women's champion Mickie James have announced injuries in the past 24 hours. They are both off all the WM week shows, which includes the first-ever live episode of Impact on AXS TV, as well as the Multiverse of Matches PPV with NJPW and the Sacrifice PPV tonight. Impact will have to completely shuffle these cards. Alexander will be out a very long time with a torn triceps and already announced that he has vacated the title. Details surrounding James' injury and plans for her title are not yet known.

Impact will have to completely shuffle these cards. Alexander will be out a very long time with a torn triceps and already announced that he has vacated the title. Details surrounding James' injury and plans for her title are not yet known. Mickie James announced at Sacrifice that she broke a rib and will not miss much time. She has a deadline of April 16 to be ready for Rebellion, which is legit up in the air as to whether she will be healed by then. If she isn't, she will have to vacate the title and the vacancy will be filled by Jordynne Grace vs. the winner of a 4-way at Multiverse of Matches (Deonna Purazzo vs. Masha Slamovich vs. Gisele Shaw vs. Tokyo Joshi Pro star Miyu Yamashita). If James is able to go, that match at Rebellion will be a 3-way with James defending against both. Obviously, the singles match of James vs. Grace for the title last night was cancelled and not replaced. Grace was not on the show at all. Alexander was replaced by Steve Maclin in the Sacrifice main event pitting KUSHIDA and the Motor City Machine Guns against Maclin, Rich Swann, and Frankie Kazarian. Maclin tapped to KUSHIDA. At Multiverse of Matches, Maclin will take on KUSHIDA for the vacated title. Maclin was already the #1 contender who was set to face the winner of Alexander vs. KUSHIDA at Rebellion, so this was really the move that makes the most sense, but having Maclin vs. KUSHIDA sure is a big step down for the Multiverse show. I'd like to see them call an audible and give KUSHIDA a short title reign here until they can have a different Impact talent take the belt from him, but I'm guessing that Maclin is going to wind up the champion, especially after he already tapped to KUSHIDA last night. Maclin as a World champion in any type of semi-major company in 2023 is weird though, only a few notches better than Tyrus being NWA champion. The injury really fucked Impact here.

Maclin sucks, and has the personality of a blank sheet of paper, but comparing him to Tyrus like that is a bit harsh. Maclin would be fine as lower-mid-card guy putting over people on their way up; Tyrus has no business wrestling in a parking lot in front of 10 people, let alone being the NWA champion who is expected to sell PPVs.

Catching up on some Impact. Jordynne Grace. Yikes. Only 27. Looks 45 now. One to keep an eye on for the under 40 pick.

Tonight’s “live” Impact on AXS looks like it’s mostly just a studio show previewing the Multiverse PPV that starts at 11pm, and some old matches. Disappointing.

I thought Multiverse of Madness was pretty lackluster. The card being decimated by injuries didn’t help, but nothing rose above average. I wish Tanahashi had put Mike Bailey over in the main event but they went with all predictable winners.
