Because random fans sending in questions would phrase it like that. Lol. I don’t remember Scherer EVER attacking Meltzer before the past 2 years. Not sure what happened to get it to the point where he has to write himself questions almost every day to come up with a pretense for trolling him.

Voices of Wrestling gave the AEW Title match 4 1/4**** and the Anarchy match 4 1/2.
Cagematch reviews gave the title match 9.00 (out of 10), and the Anarchy match 8.88.
Dave wasn't really too far off on the general consensus of those matches

I would be shocked if Dave Scherer has been to more than 3 wrestling shows in the last 20 years Not sure what he does anymore. From 1995-2001, we knew each other as acquaintances from ECW shows. He would sit in the bleachers and drink with his friends at the ECW Arena, and we would regularly see each other on line waiting to get into the building at the Lost Battalion Hall or the Elk's Lodge in NYC. He was just a mark, same as the rest of us, although he was older than me. He was running The Wrestling Lariat and working at 1wrestling.com at the time and wanted me to write content for him, but not much came of it as I was busy with college and it didn't really pay (I do remember him offering me $15 for something once). I did get a few things published at 1wrestling.com and later when he started PWInsider in 2004 I was an early contributor, but he wanted like 6 submissions a month and I was giving him closer to 6 a year. Then, we pretty much lost touch. To think, if only I had dedicated more time to this instead of my career, I could've grown up to be Richard Trionfico. Damn, missed opportunities. I do wonder if Trionfico pulls in even $20,000 a year from this "job", which last I checked, he considered to be a real gig (I've never met Trionfico as far as I know and I have no idea how he was brought into the picture or what arrangement they have other than him publicly saying that he got a real paying job there after submitting so many items). But after seeing him have The Sandman smear his blood on his shirt and get into shenanigans that should not be mentioned with New Jack, the Dave Scherer that exists today is completely unrecognizable from who I knew. I mean, everyone grows up over the course of 3 decades, but this guy is just a sanctimonious prick now. Mike Johnson was part of this group all along, and was always the more low-key, level-headed, less-drunken guy, and he seems like he's more or less the same personality now.

As far as I recall, Richard Trionfo started off submitting OVW TV reports back when it was a developmental territory. I remember his reports were always the same. He does have a unique ability to be able to convert a whole match, every single move, into text form, and at the end you have no idea if the match was any good or not. I don't think he cares about match quality, just quantity. That report he has had every week for over 10 years where he records the match times for every match on every show can't be of interest to anyone but himself. Kudos to Mike and Dave for giving this autistic fan a paying job covering his favorite subject. His work is completely unreadable, however.

It takes twice as long to read his reports of a show than just to watch the show. I can’t imagine anyone has ever gotten through one of his columns. I click on the link and am immediately overwhelmed by the length and the dryness of the report. It’s like if you wanted to read a scientific journal on wrestling and be bored to tears without actually learning anything. He must spend hours writing up each show he watches, and no one cares.

Off topic, but on my Instagram feed this weekend I saw the time Sandman did the legdrop while hanging from the ceiling. Two things - first, that took a lot of work and was impressive for a guy of his physique. And second, it looked like it hurt like hell. I can imagine Scherer whipping out his cock and start jacking it within a second of this move happening. I remember one year he was offering up PWInsiderExtra t-shirts. I was a paid member at the time, just too lazy to figure out how to cancel. So I emailed for a T-shirt and he wanted $25 for it. So I responded no thanks and oh by the way cancel my membership. That was around 2008.

Scherer moved to Vegas a long time ago. I'm willing to bet he hasn't been to any wrestling shows in the last 20 years except for ECW reunions

Scherer moved to Vegas a long time ago. I'm willing to bet he hasn't been to any wrestling shows in the last 20 years except for ECW reunions No judgment either way, but I'm always curious about the appeal of moving to Las Vegas. Once you get off The Strip, it's the same as any other city with its good areas and bad. I can see the appeal of maybe being in the middle of nowhere but also just a 45-minute drive to major shows and restaurants. And the heat is brutal during the day but it's usually really pleasant at night. That's what I hate about NYC, during the summer it's just as disgusting at 3am as 3pm, and then you have the brutal winter to deal with. At least in Vegas, you know it'll be 110 every day during the summer but you might not even need the AC once the sun goes down, and then the winter/fall is always pleasant. Before buying rental properties in Scranton, I looked in Vegas. You really need money to live in a decent place in a decent area right now. Otherwise, the units are real shit. At least IMO. As an east coast person, I just hated the architecture and layout of everything I saw, but my wife is from California and didn't mind it. Anyway, if Scherer bought 20 years ago, maybe he wound up getting himself a nice deal before the explosion. There is no rent control in Vegas though (one of the appealing things about it as a landlord, even though they're trying to pass a bill right now to create some type of rent increase cap), so for his sake, I hope he bought back then.

This tells you all you need to know about the man.
Pinned Tweet May 29 Dave Scherer @davescherer I have a message for every incel booger eater who quotes my tweets and rambles moronically about how I won’t let you post in response to what I write: I do it because I couldn’t care less what incel booger eating morons think. Hope that clears it up for you dimwits.

Hope that clears it up for you dimwits. The guy has become unhinged. I can't even tell if he's talking about AEW fans, Meltzer fans, or Trump supporters. He's just angry all the time. I read through some of his tweets and he was really bashing the last AEW PPV in real time taking personal shots at people and fans who were enjoying it that was completely out-of-line for someone who covers the business for a living. Not really sure what happened to him, it's a complete personality change that has clearly affected his work. I don't know why Mike Johnson continues to put up with this.

I really hope that when Greg Oliver did his sitdown interview with Mike Johnson, he asked why Mike doesn't write emails to himself but Dave does.....
