Thank God, Booker is off NXT commentary. Byron Saxon has been recycled to replace him, but anything would be an upgrade. Just for this week I think he twitted Yeah, sadly they mentioned later that Booker had surgery or something and that's the only reason he was off TV for the PPV and this week's show. They need to make that permanent. Booker is the only one who could make Byron seem like a huge upgrade.

The Observer site had this story yesterday:
On his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T gave an update after having to miss WWE NXT Vengeance Day due to a medical procedure.
Booker T announced on Sunday that he underwent a medical procedure and will need to miss the next couple weeks of NXT television. Wade Barrett filled in for Booker T on commentary at Vengeance Day.
While speaking about the procedure on his podcast, the 58-year-old Booker T thanked everyone for the well-wishes they've sent him. Booker T reiterated that he's going to take the next couple of weeks off but will be back as soon as he can. Booker T said he's doing well.
"I know you missed me. But I'm good, guys. First of all, I want to thank everybody for all of the support. All the well-wishes, telling me to get well and get back on track and get back. I'm going to get back as soon as I can. I'm going to take a couple weeks off, but rest assured, I will be back live and in living color, doing it like it's supposed to be done. But I'm going to take these days off to relax."
Booker T said that, for the last month or so, he hasn't been able to get in the gym and train like he wants to. After the procedure, he's now on his way back to being able to do that.
"I had a medical procedure. The thing is, I don't like putting my business out there and stuff. If I was dying, I'll let you guys know [laughs]. But I ain't dying, I ain't dead yet or anything like that. But it is something that's going to keep me down for a couple of weeks. That's the thing with me, I'm antsy. I don't like being down. I like being on the go, working out, that's been my thing for forever is being able to get up in the morning, get in the gym and train. Before I go to bed at night, get in the gym and train. This last month or so, I haven't been able to do that. But right now, I'm on my way back to getting to that point. Like I said, I feel good. I'm sore as hell... But I feel good. The only thing, I hate I missed Vengeance Day because the action was action-packed."

I feel badly for Ava. Getting into wrestling with The Rock as her dad is tough because even if she becomes a good worker, she can never match up to him for charisma and stardom.
It also seems like she isn’t progressing as a wrestler because she’s been in developmental for almost exactly four years and she rarely wrestled on TV prior to getting this GM role on NXT. I am sure her sticking around when others have been cut was to keep the WWE in good graces with her dad. Her sudden push was either requested by Rock or unilaterally done to curry favor with him.
Either way, she has to know why this is happening and consequently have some major self doubt. On top of that, Ava had Cody Rhodes fans harassing her and even making death threats.

Well, she could try and make a career in a field which does not rely on Daddy's influence...

Brooks Jensen has apologized for wearing an Ole Anderson T-shirt on TV shortly after his death. He received online backlash for honoring a "racist" and promptly begged for the mercy of the Internet mob, also clarifying that although his character looks like a redneck, in real life he is a fully indoctrinated liberal who believes in the One True Opinion (paraphrasing). Jim Cornette, who somehow sees himself as a liberal, has had a lot of choice words on this situation, and has defended Ole as a someone who hated everyone equally.

Booker T clearly didn’t know anything about the NXT talent and angles nor did he care to learn. He’s been fine enough on Raw for extended periods in the past because he knew what was going on. He got worse and worse on NXT due to clearly not giving a damn.

Booker T clearly didn’t know anything about the NXT talent and angles nor did he care to learn. He’s been fine enough on Raw for extended periods in the past because he knew what was going on. He got worse and worse on NXT due to clearly not giving a damn. I have no idea how he still has a job. And then these past 2 weeks of grandstanding on his podcast, where he teased a confrontation with CM Punk backstafe at NXT, the Internet asked questions, then he came back and said, "Why is the Internet obsessed with this? Me and Punk are friends." Just STFU then. He had the gall to claim that the story was "clickbait" despite the fact that everything written about it was a direct quote from his own podcast that I heard with my own ears! And I feel so sorry for his broadcast partner who has to keep reigning him in and trying to explain the angles to both the audience and Booker every week.

Olympic gold medalist Tamyra Monday-Stock made her in-ring debut at an NXT house recently. She has been training at the PC for several months and is getting rave reviews for her dedication, natural charisma, and how quickly she’s picking this up. The comparisons to Gable Steveson are like night and day, and most expect her to make it and Steveson to wash out soon.

No love for Stand and Deliver I guess. I’m watching it now and it’s interesting to see Rob Feinstein of all people prominently sitting behind the announcers in the front row.

Tonight on NXT TV, they had a backstage segment talking about Charlie Dempsey’s appearance at Bloodsport by name. He was also sporting a legit black eye from the fight.
It was also mentioned on the pre-show to the WWE HOF when the interviewer asked Shayna Baszler to talk about her big win that she already had that weekend, but Baszler was completely dismissive of the event and didn’t put it over at all, not even mentioning the name of the show or her opponent, in a way that came across as Baszler being a bitch and not a WWE call (otherwise she wouldn’t have been asked the question in the first place).
