Still a big fan of Clue just for its simplicity, and there are ways to "cheat" by taking notes when guesses are made.
But, for me, it's Strat-o-Matic baseball. I still play to this day when I have time and have the urge. I have complete season sets for 1982, 1985, 1990, 1993, 2000, 2005, and 2015. I'm currently in the middle of a 1985 American League Best-of-5 tournament.
If that's not nerdy enough, around 2009 or 2010 I had downloaded the Superstar Pro Wrestling game mentioned above and was booking my own federation and having a blast with it. I still have write-ups and list of champions somewhere. I'd run one "big" card every month with a smaller "Tv taping" in between, in real time. What was surprising to me was how remarkably accurate the results were. There were some upsets, but in general guys beat guys you would expect. I made all of my title matches best 2-out-of-3 falls. Rick Martel and Ric Flair were trading the belt back and forth over about a year. I was building up 1987 Curt Hennig for a title shot though. One of the big upsets was Masked Superstar beating Martel for the title out of nowhere before Martel won it back the next month. The Road Warriors were my World Tag-Team Champions and virtually unbeatable. Surprisingly, Valentine and Beefcake were unbeatable as my National Tag-Team Champions for over two years. I need to look into downloading that game again. I lost it when my laptop crashed a few years ago.

I got the Giants into the World Series against my buddies Oakland A's. I was down 3 games to 2 and losing game six 8 to 5 in the 14 th inning. Won the game 9 to 8 as Campy Campaneris, with two outs , committed a 2 run error allowing the winning run to score. Both of us were too scared to play game 7 so we left it a tie and started Strat Football. Good Times back then.

I loved this game. Family friends had this when I was a kid, a late 70's version I assume. I think the top salary was $25,000 for the doctor.

It's "cheating" in our house when you've got a ten year old kid who wants to know why dad is writing notes when other people are taking their turns. To keep world peace, we had to make a "house rule" that you're only allowed to eliminate suggestions on your notepad based on your own guesses during your turn. Agree with you, part of the game includes keeping track of guesses that keep coming up and even trying to throw off your opponents with fake leads. So, by the rules, it's not really cheating.

I just started teaching my 5-year old how to play Clue in the last 2 weeks. He’s sorta getting the strategy of it, but hasn’t come close to winning yet He can figure out a weapon or suspect sometimes so he’s getting the hang of it. I never let him win at anything. We started playing a kids’ game that was similar called Outfoxed, where you guess which fox stole the pie based on some clues, and he was nailing that, so we thought he might be ready. We also only played Jr. Monopoly about 4 times before he insisted on playing the adult version, and he has that down.

Flair was my champ & I brought in his friend Greg Valentine to fix his figure 4 technique so it wouldn't be reversed every time he put it on. They eventually became tag champs after Flair lost the belt to Bret Hart. Eventually Flair regained the belt & Valentine turned on him.

We play monopoly from time to time now and it's fun, the kids enjoy some of the modern variants like the builder, cheaters & the longest game ever edition.
When I was growing up we usually played dominos and card games as a family
