Didn't he deplete the emergency reserve we had? If he didn't, I imagine he'll unload that before the election. It wouldn't bother me in the least if it went through the roof.

They could put a pause on the federal tax on gas (18.3) and diesel (24.3) and continue to draw down the SPR to flood the zone.
The bill to fill the SPR would then fall on the next President but i mean money printer go brrrrrrrrr so who cares anymore ?!?

I need to ask a question to somebody that may know more than me: I was always told that gasoline went “stale”, and you shouldn’t use it past six months. My dad always called it bullshit, but I’ve heard garages say the same thing, and they sell the gas. So if it goes bad, why have we saved this reserve since 1972?

Just mowed the grass lawnmower had gas in it from last August

The SPR is crude oil; some is sour crude (high sulfur content) some is sweet crude (low sulfur) stored separately in different salt caverns. Crude doesn't spoil but refined products can but not usually within 6 months. It largely depends on how it is stored and the environment the container is in.

Im not sure what is going on in California right now but fuel prices can get crazy out there because they cannot bring in fuel* from a different state. So if there is a refinery, pipeline or loading rack disruption it can get tight pretty quick. *California has their own set of emissions standards that refiners have to comply to that are more stringent than the federal standards.
