One of Meltzer's claims is that AEW TV ratings are 'disappointing' because the WWE is 'hot' right now
There's no question that the WWE 'product' is the best it has been in years right now.
Lets take a look at the WWE's Monday night ratings , statistically quantify how 'hot' they are by comparing to last year and in turn see how much impact they are having on AEW
2023
2 Weeks Before Wrestlemania 1.771 1 Week Before Wrestlemania 1.84 Night After Wrestlemania 2.26 Week After Wrestlemania 1.82
2024
2 Weeks Before Wrestlemania 1.729 1 Week Before Wrestlemania 1.78 Night After Wrestlemania 2.362 Week After Wrestlemania 1.807
2024 vs 2023 is a flat trend. Not the case w AEW. People have simply tuned out the product. They aren't showing up as WWE viewers either. Am surprised WWE isn't crushing last year though.

Getting higher ratings is impossible in this landscape. Staying flat is like getting much higher ratings back in the day.

SmackDown on free-to-air might be the better comparison.

AEW Dynamite seems to be fairly steady. I think there was a sizeable drop off last year, probably somewhat to do with all the stuff around Punk. But it seems steady since. Jim Cornette usually gives the ratings and they're about the same every week

SmackDown on free-to-air might be the better comparison. That too
