Just a passing thought. Back in, say, 1994, the sheets always glamorized Japanese wrestling. How it was treated like a real sport, how it was part of the mainstream culture in Japan, getting coverage in papers and on major tv shows, events consistently in big domes, matches with phenomenal workrate, but overall just a completely different template from 1994 American wrestling, which was treated basically like a joke. It was almost unthinkable in 1994 to consider WWF at the time ever partnering with ESPN or Disney or getting play on major tv news outlets.
Is American wrestling finally where Japanese wrestling was in the mid 90s?
