Federal minimum wage $7.25
So there's a federal minimum wage and a state minimum wage. And the federal hasn't budged since 2009
Then a Governor (Newsome, California) can declare a new minimum wage for fast food workers and like it or not he raised the state's minimum wage unofficially by doing that
I see NYC Mayor Adams just raised the 'minimum wage' for app-workers to almost $20 an hour
Clearly there is and was 'reform' and 'fairness' needed but shocked at the lack of 'process' that it takes 'to change it'

You don't like paying $20 for a Big Mac and fries?

I don't get how the Federal minimum wage is stuck at a certain number but a Governor or Mayor can change the state's number seemingly just because they don't like it.
Don't get me wrong, something stuck at the same number from 2009 (it is a different economy at this point) is wrong

Or the Federal ban on Dope, but each state decides to legalize.

In theory the state government should have a better idea on the cost of living in their state than the federal government, so yes, they should have final say on their minimum wage.

CEOs used to make 20x-25x the average worker, now it's 300. We wouldn't be shocked into it if that reform and fairness happened gradually.

But it's still $2.75/hr for those who work for tips. At a time when no one dines out anymore.

Then why even gave a ‘federal minimum wage’- half of why the minimum wage hasn’t budged is bc your Walmarts and Wendy’s etc support politicians that kept it low
