He's kind of a forgotten name but let's talk. There's some stuff that doesn't add up. I didn't look any of this up so I might be missing something.
For the sake of argument lets say he was one-half of a top tag team of the 1970s, the Valiant Brothers and I'll call their hayday 1973-1976 we can disagree on the years/dates I didn't look it up
He comes back to the WWF and wins the tag titles with Jerry Valiant 1978 we'll say.
The water gets murky after that.
After losing the WWF tag title the next high-profile thing I remember was managing Hulk Hogan in the AWA. That didn't last long.
In 1984 he's back in the WWF as a manager (managing the Dream Team) there are some in-ring appearances but not many.
In the end, part of Brutus turning good he gives 'Johnny V' a sleeperhold than a haircut.
The last 5 years of his career are a mystery. Manager only? Did he get sick t some point?
RIP by the way I really liked him sounded like he didn't get paid much or didn't manage his money well really don't know but a bizarre end of career

Early 1980’s he was in the Bruno/Denucci promotion which I actually liked.

The 1989 AWA run was mostly TV taping days and a few house show matches. After that, a series of indy bouts but he wasn't active in the 90s like ten years prior. Sounded like Tony Clifton.

He also had bit parts in TV and movies.
I know he was a NY crew bodyguard on an episode of the Sopranos. He also was on an episode of Law and Order. He was in The Wrestler, or at least credited.
He also did like a 1 man show or stand up routine before he died.

Valiant also did stand-up comedy in the early 200’s and his manager posted at KM back in the day.

The last time I remember seeing him in WWF was at Survivor Series 1987. I remember him being absent from a lot of the promo stuff leading up to that event, but the other four managers were there.

His death always seemed a little odd to me. I was thinking there may have been some m MH issues there.

In late March 1970 George Becker took some time off due to a death in the family. From March 30 through April 10, 1970, John L. Sullivan took George Becker's spot in seven tag matches as the partner of Johnny Weaver.

My memory is hazy, but I used to record every episode of Superstars of Wrestling back then. SS87 was definitely his last PPV. He would have been manager for the Dream Team. I think on that weekend's syndicated Superstars of Wrestling, Valentine re-debuted Jimmy Hart as his manager, and Bravo debuted Frenchy Martin as his, so they were both back into singles competition. That episode would have been taped prior to Survivor Series. So, Valiant was kinda a lame duck for the Survivor Series. He knew he was on his way out, unless they decided to keep him around for color commentary on All American or Spotlight.

I remember him specifically from the Wrestler as I recall he was shown sleeping at his gimmick table...a bunch of old timey wrestlers at a signing in a gym or someplace small, with hardly anyone coming out to it.
That scene struck a chord with me for some reason.

He stuck around as a JTTS until right before WM 4, losing at house shows, mostly.
