She will get the split of votes disgusted by the current two. Easy math. MANY out there looking for an alternative to Dumb and Dumber. It's not a split. She's completely unqualified so those on the fence who decide they can't vote for Trump will stay home and not vote at all, and the rest will just go Trump. I don't think there are many undecideds who think Michelle Obama is the answer they've been waiting for. I think there are a lot of voters who won't care about Michelle Obama's qualifications. They don't think she would actually be running things anyway - her husband Barack would. Have Michelle run for president with Barack as the VP (not sure if that is allowed) and the Democrats would have a very strong chance at winning. But they would have to run as a team with Barack very much in the spotlight.

But they would have to run as a team with Barack very much in the spotlight. I've already read articles on this. The part of the 12th Amendment important here is: "[N]o person constitutionally ineligible to the office of president shall be eligible to that of vice president of the United States." A former President who served his 2 terms is not eligible to run again for President, therefore should also be ineligible to be named VP. Now a partisan Supreme Court could argue that the eligibility requirements only refer to being 35, a natural-born citizen, etc. as outlined in the Constitution. The 12th pre-dates term limits for presidents, which was only done as a gentleman's agreement at the time (until FDR refused to leave and it was put into writing in the 22nd Amendment). So you could theoretically have a legal fight that the eligibility requirements in the 12th do not refer to the eligibility requirements in the 22nd. This is crazy to me since it should refer to whatever current eligibility requirements the current law is, as surely was the intent, but it is open to interpretation by unscrupulous people. So the short answer is, we don't know for sure because no one has tried this loophole yet and we haven't been smart enough to close it before it becomes an issue. We should immediately ratify another Amendment, with broad bipartisan support, to strengthen the language of the 12th and the 22nd so no one can try this nonsense in the future. But that won't happen.

You think so? Gosh, to me she's just as shrill and miserable as Hillary. More so because deep down she knows she only got where she is by being a diversity hire. I'm assuming you're referring to Michelle here because I agree that Kamala was a diversity hire. Michelle does a much better job as coming off as a happy, likable person. When Hillary would smile and shake hands, it totally come off as being artificial.

Thanks for the info, srossi. Even if Barack couldn't run for VP, I suspect that if he made himself very prominent during Michelle's campaigning and used phrases such as "Michelle and I have a shared vision of..." or "Michelle and I agree that..." that the Democrats would have a very strong chance of winning. Even though Biden served as VP during Obama's presidency, I don't think the "stink" of Biden's current presidency would stick to Obama.

Pretty much agree. Last time I saw some numbers it showed Trump’s numbers have decreased. Biden and Trump both have caused voter apathy. A new voice. A new face. A new message. They win. Same goes with Haley. If she somehow becomes the candidate, I would predict her to win.

Oh dear. I'm old enough to remember when Mike Dukakis posing on a tank was the height of cringe. But now we have Sundown Joe proving his racial bona fides by going to the home of a colored family and buying them, wait for it, fried chicken! They then discuss basketball and Joe tells the boys that their father will take a bullet for them. Oh, my sides! If Trump said that MSNBC would devote a week's worth of programming on the topic of his racist dog whistles. They would insist he thinks black men all die in a hail of inner city gun fire. If this keeps up, I may not make it till November, when the real fun will start.

At least he didn’t sniff the kids.

Thought I'd throw in a British election. We have 655 elected Members of Parliament, and if one of them dies (or is disqualified) then there is a by-election to take the seat until the next General Election. By-elections are traditionally much lower turnout and often have protest votes.
The MP for Rochdale (near Manchester) died recently so there's a by-election there now. It's a left-wing area and a solid Labour seat. So Labour was bound to win.
Except they have just thrown their candidate out of the party because footage emerged suggesting he was a racist anti-Semite. (Being an area with a high Pakistani population there is a LOT of racism there - it was notoriously the centre of a paedo ring that Plod did not want to investigate because RACIST).
There are two main alternatives for protest parties. One was thrown out of Parliament for txting under-age girls. The other is an overt racist and mate of Saddam Hussein who once pretended to be a cat on television. And he is favourite to win.

Just fucking CRINGE.

Okay, we all get it, Biden's basically non compos mentis, but here's one last supercut of him demonstrating a complete inability to think and speak. If there were a few clips like this it could be considered nitpicking, but this is Biden every single day. And remember, before he gets carted out in public, he's getting pumped full of the best drugs that money can buy. twitter.com/i/status/1756551610308702692

If I were a debate moderator for the upcoming Trump-Biden rematch, I'd tell both that people are worried about age and cognition. I'd then proceed to ask Biden who is the president of France OR Mexico. If he couldn't answer it, that clip would go super viral. At that point, it would be harder to rig the election.
