I can't believe anyone is seriously floating the idea that Trump would attempt a third term. Didn't you all make this same claim about Chimpy Bushitler in the aughts? It was ridiculous then and it's ridiculous now. Trump's a civ-nat, basically an 80's Reagan Democrat, and he's not going to attempt a third term.
Meanwhile, the Regime affiliated DOJ concluded that Biden's mishandling of classified documents is, get this, totally different than Trump's, so he'll be given a pass. Internal Affairs is more likely to convict a cop than the DOJ is to punish a Regime member in good standing.
But more interesting, from a Kremlinology perspective, is that their report plainly says that Biden's diminished mental faculties would have made it difficult to secure a conviction.
We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during out interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory," the report states. "Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt. It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him -- by then a former president well into his eighties -- of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness."
"Mr. Biden's memory was significantly limited, both during his recorded interviews with the ghostwriter in 2017, and in his interview with our office in 2023."
Also in the report was this passage:
In his interview with our office, Mr. Biden's memory was worse. He did not remember when he was vice president, forgetting on the first day of the interview when his term ended ("if it was 2013 - when did I stop being Vice President?"), and forgetting on the second day of the interview when his term began ("in 2009, am I still Vice President?"). He did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died. And his memory appeared hazy when describing the Afghanistan debate that was once so important to him. Among other things, he mistakenly said he "had a real difference" of opinion with General Karl Eikenberry, when, in fact, Eikenberry was an ally whom Mr. Eiden cited approvingly in his Thanksgiving memo to President Obama.
One is left to wonder if these aren't carefully planted seeds by some Party faction to get Biden off the ballot this fall. They can fortify the election all they want but there's the possibility that he's polling so poorly going into election day that the fortification will have to be ridiculously obvious (although topping 2020 would be quite a feat). If even the in-the-tank DOJ is indicating Biden's not up to the task, you'll probably see the court stenographers in the media begin a very public examination of Biden's capabilities, or lack thereof.
