I listened to Cornette and Last’s latest conversation about this which was posted on YouTube last night and ran about an hour long. Part of it was them apologizing for laughing at some of the stuff last week. Cornette went on to talk about how he was primarily around Vince AFTER the steroid trial and just before the Attitude Era, probably when Vince was at his most mature and humbled and even-keeled state, and these texts messages now are like they’re from a completely different person. They speculated on the steroid abuse or concussions having something to do with it, but the texts look like they’re from a 17 yr old illiterate. Cornette kept going back to how Vince worked from home, hardly went out, and never acted this perverse around them before Linda got home. I take Cornette at face value on this, but Vince’s days of booking at home around the pool were long since past. All accounts say he was in the office almost every day once the company went public, and probably a few years before. So that’s more than 25 years now for him to get into office trouble.

Yeah he should lay low for a bit. I assume of he's let go he'll get a large payout and he's been working near the top for 35 years so I doubt he needs the podcast money that badly. Bruce was away from WWE from 2008 to 2019. He did some work for TNA and MLW, but I don't think he was working anywhere when he started the podcast. No idea on his financial situation, but I have a suspicion that he's not set for life. I don't see why they'd have to give him any type of payout. They could just let him go tomorrow.

I assume he is contracted for x years, so they would have to pay him on his contract,no? And to clarify, you're right, he wasn't working for WWE when he started his podcast. He might have still have one foot in with MLW, I forget. But he wasn't getting a fortune from MLW one way or the other. You may be right, I didn't think he was gone for that long. And he had a few other times in the wilderness back in the 90s which would have burned through a lot of his money.

I think office staff at WWE are salaried. If he is contracted, any link to Vince might trigger a "morals clause."

My assumption is just that, I don't know.
Anyway, we'll know soon. I never got the impression he'd even be there other than Vince likes him, for whatever reason.

I doubt they will go the "morals clause" route unless there's something specific about his participation that we don't know about yet. He's a salaried office employee, it's at-will employment. They can fire him or lay him off easily if they wish.

Fair enough, thanks for clarifying.

Does anyone think in the aftermath of it all that Vince ends up 'doing time'?

Does anyone think in the aftermath of it all that Vince ends up 'doing time'? No criminal charges have been filed and there’s not much chance they will be. There’s only a civil suit.

Conrad says that Bruce Prichard is actually undergoing triceps surgery today, ironically similar to what Punk is getting, so he's away from the office for a bit. Interesting timing.

Maybe true, maybe not but I did listen to a recent show (first time I've listened in a few years) and Bruce was talking about being in pain, painkillers and surgery. Good timing anyway,I'm presuming it's true as if he were to lie about this it would not be a good look.

I don’t think he’s lying, but it sure is a good idea to get that surgery while you’re still on WWE’s insurance plan, just in case. I know there were a couple of times where I thought I might be laid off, and I was like, "OK, everybody's dental check-ups are now this week."

When asked about the Vince allegations and how it might effect the WWE-Netflix deal, Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria completely dismissed the question, only saying, "Well, Vince McMahon, he’s gone. He’s not there. He’s gone." They then moved on.

Vice News quoted Johnny Ace's lawyer as saying this, which might be the worst possible thing that could've been said: "Mr. Laurinaitis denies the allegations in the misguided complaint and will be vigorously defending these charges in Court, not the media. Like the Plaintiff, Mr. Laurinaitis is a victim in this case, not a predator. The truth will come out." Dear God.
