Hi all,
While translating many of the Montreal results, I come across this phrase from time to time. It translates as "so and so lowered the flag against so and so"
For example in the 8/15/72 Verdun, QC (Grand Prix) results it translates as "Akim Manuka lowered the flag in front of Joe Dusek".
So, who won? Was it Manuka or Dusek?
Sorry if this seem elementary to most, but it's a little confusing to me.
Thanks!

It's a literal translation of a French idiom meaning to surrender. Ships used to lower their flags to indicate surrender during battles at sea. You can probably work the rest out now but the wrestler who "lowered the flag" submitted to their opponent.
