I've been trying to identify all the Matches from the 1984 Mid-Atlantic Television Title Tournament. I've found all but the Semi-Final Match between Mark Youngblood and Assassin #2. However, one Match-up for the Quarter Finals appears twice, Dory vs. Slater. First in Shelby on Feb 15 and then in Greenwood on Feb 22: Is it possible that Feb 22 actually should be the Youngblood-Assasin-Match or did they really run Dory/Slater twice? This was the date for Dory vs Slater. These are the results I have right now. I am pretty sure the Mark Youngblood vs Assassin 2 match took place in Winston Salem on February 29th but that's not 100 percent confirmed. Maybe if a ad pops up for it we may find out? Wednesday - February 15 1984 - Shelby NC - Recreation Center - TV Tapings ------------------------------------------------------------------ Jay Youngblood and Angelo Mosca Jr beat Ali Bey and Bill White Wahoo McDaniel and Mark Youngblood beat NWA World Tag Champs Bob Orton Jr and Don Kernodle in a Non Title Match US Champ Dick Slater pinned Dory Funk Jr in the NWA World TV Title tournament Tully Blanchard pinned Keith Larson Mark Youngblood, Angelo Mosca Jr, Tim Horner beat Tony Russo, Gary Royal, Bill White Ivan Koloff pinned Dave McCoy Ernie Ladd pinned Bubba Smith Tully Blanchard pinned Vinnie Valentino Gary Hart, Paul Jones, The Assassins, Angelo Mosca Sr, Rufus R Jones appeared as well Wednesday - February 22 1984 - Greenwood SC - Civic Center - TV Tapings ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Wahoo McDaniel and Dory Funk Jr (sub for Tully Blanchard) beat The Assassins Jack Brisco and Jerry Brisco beat Mark Youngblood and Jay Youngblood Mid Atlantic Champ Angelo Mosca Jr beat Ivan Koloff by DQ The Assassins beat Keith Larson Brett Hart Dick Slater beat Greg Valentine by countout in the TV Title tournament NWA World Tag Champs Bob Orton Jr and Don Kernodle beat Tim Horner and Vinnie Valentino Great Kabuki pinned Brickhouse Brown Tully Blanchard pinned Sam Houston Paul Jones, The Junkyard Dog, Gary Hart, Angelo Mosca Sr appeared as well Here's the ad for the 2/29 Winston-Salem taping. Might this help? link

2/16/86 - Charleston, SC - St. Andrews High School Gym (2 PM) Pez Whatley defeated Thunderfoot Teijo Khan defeated Italian Stallion Ron Bass fought The Barbarian to a double count-out Jimmy Valiant defeated Tully Blanchard NWA World Tag Team Champions The Midnight Express vs. The Rock 'n Roll Express
Somewhat of a conflict here. The newspaper said that R 'n R won, but a tidbit from the Wrestling Observer stated that the Midnights beat R 'n R. It was supposed to go broadway, but the timekeeper forgot to rang the bell at the hour because he thought R 'n R was supposed to win. They improvised a finish which resulted in the Midnights going over. I suppose Dave's correspondent may have been right, but I'll still leave the result ambiguous for now.

I noticed that the end of April 1982 to the end of 1982 is missing. I guess it was lost in the move to the new board.

3/19/83 - Front Royal, VA - Warren County High Schoool Gym I've a feeling the next one's been posted somewhere in this thread. Someone else clipped this on newspapers.com, so it's not unlikely. Will dipose of it if so. 1/18/88 - Elizabethton, TN - High School Gym Terry Taylor vs. Italian Stallion Jimmy Valiant vs. Eddie Gilbert Rocky King vs. Kevin Sullivan Ron Simmons vs. Mike Rotunda Ricky Santana vs. Ivan Koloff (w/ Paul Jones) The Lightnin' Express vs. The Barbarian & The Warlord (not yet the Powers of Pain. close, though) NWA United States Tag Team Title: Ronnie Garvin & Mighty Wilbur vs. The Midnight Express (c) (w/ Jim Cornette)

I think it's indicative of how quickly both Terry and Eddie Gilbert dropped from their perch of the TV title unification program with Nikita Koloff just 2 months prior. I see Gilbert back working Memphis by the end of March as well.

Chase & Lee worked in Spartanburg the following night, so I'm assuming it's them.
