Antonio Pierce trying to build a combo line Gronk and Hernandez now. I don’t hate it at all if they actually throw the ball to them. That will free up Davante. Also it would be very nice if one of them doesn’t become a cold blooded murderer who shakes his cock in everybody’s face in the locker room. They don't have a fucking QB, RB is weaker, OL still sucks donkey balls and most of the D couldnt stop YOU from going goal line to goal line even if it took you a week. Facts are facts, they suck.

My standards have dropped immensely. I simply want a productive player in round one. We haven't had too many of those over the last 25 years.

Already the talking heads killing the Giants for passing on McCarthy at 6.
They literally just drafted the best WR they've had in the last 10 years since Odell Beckham Jr.
But now it's all "who's gonna throw him the ball?"
Honestly, IDGAF. Anyone on the roster, that's the answer. This guy has the ability to take a slant to the house. The Giants has the slowest WRs in the league 2 years ago. Now, they have Nabers, Hyatt, and Wandale Robinson. That alone is an upgrade.

This guy will cut a lot of the bad decisions because he's the first WR that actually has talent. Every WR he's had is either a young project or an old bag that's well past his prime. If they didn't sign a bunch of awful OL like they had over the past few years, they could be pretty good this year. Dare I say it, but Devin Singletary is better than Saquon Barkley. He can catch the ball and be a safety net for Jones and cut down on sacks. Since Barkley had "pick whatever leg injury", he hasn't been the same electric player and he's not a breakaway talent anymore. No offense to him. But Singletary has done everything with every team he's played, give him a shot and this team could be good enough to challenge in their division.

But they went out and adressed the oline. They got Carmen Bricillo to be the oline coach. They drafted a legit #1 WR. If Jones sucks this year, he's gone anyway. But if he's halfway decent, you got him for 2 years where most of his guaranteed money has been paid, and you can still draft a QB if he's hit his ceiling. Also, you haven't given up draft picks you need to build this team.

Also, you haven't given up draft picks you need to build this team. I honestly see a lot of Alex Smith in Daniel Jones. I hope that he figures it out and gets given a team to guide. Devin Singletary is a great blocker too, something Saquon avoided like the plague. I really think that even though they've had like 17 offensive coordinators during Jones' time, they are actually trying to build a team around him that plays to his strengths and hides his weaknesses. Also, they need to let go of Darren Waller, I just don't feel that he gives a damn anymore and with as awful as he was last year plus the marriage falling apart yesterday, it's possible he's drinking again and that leads him to worse substances.

I still think Daniel Jones and Brian Daboll are the shits.

5 years ago the Giants drafted him with the 6th pick in the draft
He's clearly 'average' and being paid like the superstar the Giants want him to be but didn't get. And they won't admit they were wrong.

And they won't admit they were wrong. His contract is pretty average now though. There's like 12-13 QBs making more and the next crop to hit FA will be making like $50-60 million a year.

Was there ever an official explanation from Atlanta what they did?
(Picked up Cousins in the offseason then drafted a QB)

Cousins contract is front loaded. He could QB 2 years and then Atlanta could cut him if they wanted and make way for Penix. After 2025, his dead cap money would be $35 million over the last 2 years.
Problem is, Penix is 24 years old. Do you really want him sitting until he's 26?

Why on earth did they draft this guy? And with that said, should I be excited that the Raiders didn't get the opportunity to pick him? Everybody seems to be shitting all over this guy and this pick.

I don't know how they view Cousins though. They gave him a bunch of money, but it's very front loaded, so maybe they only look at him short term? It's similar to the Giants situation with Jones. All the money expires after 2 years, if it's a failure, move on. The difference being the Giants didn't reach for a QB and Atlanta kind if did because I don't think Penix was slotted that high.
